Note: ElsterSmart will be replaced by ElsterSecure by the end of April 2023. We recommend that you use the much simpler ElsterSecure app from now on!
If you would like to register a new account, please select "ElsterSecure" on the "How do you want to log in" page or complete the registration on a PC.
ElsterSmart offers the option of importing the certificate file, which you use at Mein ELSTER (https://www.elster.de), e.g. to log in or to submit tax forms, into an application on the smartphone. The certificate is no longer required on the PC for this type of login. This means you always have your certificate file with you and can access My ELSTER from anywhere.
You can also use ElsterSmart to register with ELSTER by entering your registration data (activation code and activation ID) in ElsterSmart. The certificate file is generated directly by ElsterSmart and securely stored in it.
Notes:
- The app will show a notification when rooting or jailbreak is detected.
- The certificate file is imported directly into the ElsterSmart application.
- If the application is uninstalled or if you switch to a new smartphone, make sure that the certificate file is not lost.
- Before uninstalling or switching to another device, the certificate must therefore be exported in order to be able to import it again into the new environment.
